Introduction
This service provides specialist assessment and treatment for people with serious mental health & addiction problems. We are a free community mental health centre for the people living in Hawke’s Bay.
Functions of the service
- Urgent assessment and treatment including intensive community care and crisis respite for people with acute mental illness or severe psychological distress.
- Activities required by the Mental Health Act 1992.
- Assessment and short term focussed treatment for those with serious mental illness.
- Clinical treatment and follow-up for people with serious mental illness and mental health disability.
Service delivery
Service is delivered from the hospital base in Hastings, health centres in Napier, Wairoa and Central Hawke’s Bay and, via outreach clinics and home visits. A range of individual, family and group treatments are available.
Hours of service
8:30am - 11:00pm, with on call service from 10:30pm - 8:00am Our operating hours are from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm with 24 hour service provided by the Inpatient Unit and the Crisis Assessment Treatment Team.
